The People of Kruger

Along with seeing lots of beautiful animals, I have met some fabulous people. Here are a few of them.

At Lower Sabie, I met up with some Chilean supporters. This is Ignacio from Chile having a bite to eat. One of his friends said, “Take ourpicture again after we have won the championship!”

This is Andrew on the left and St. John on the right. St. John is English who works in Dubai as part of an international tours group. He told me a few jokes about the English Goalkeeper. I told him that we beat his country 1-1. Cry God for Harry, England, and St. John!

Next to us at our campsite, I met two brothers and a nephew from Colombia. Make sure you spell Colombia with two O’s, or you might upset a ColOmbian. Meet Joel,Julian, and Max. They showed up a few nights into our stay and were not prepared for the cold. WE shared our campfire so they could warm up a bit. They bought a few blankets to help with the cold. I just hope they made it through the night without any effects from hypothermia. Joel, Max, and Julian are here to see the second round of the tournament and seeing games from the Argentinean bracket.

This is the Pelser family from Pretoria that we watched several games with in Kruger National Park. I will update the blog with the entire family when I get their picture. One of their daughters was feeling sick and the dad and daughter missed the picture. The Pelsers live in Pretoria which is northeast of Joburg and the capitol of South Africa. The daughter that is not in the picture is in a choir that competes international and placed 7th The Pelser family is quite close with the Wesson family, as in The Smith and Wesson fire arm company. Old Man Wesson would come to Pretoria to visit the Pelser family. When he could break away from their wonderful hospitality, he would go hunting. Their son’s name sounds a lot like Maximus Desmus Meridius. He has a big name to live up to!

On our way home, I met Graham, a biker witha lot of pins on his jacket. I gave him one of my Arizona soccer pins to place on his jacket. He was happy to do so. Just like bikers in the USA, Graham is very proud of his jacket.

More to come!!!
